JAV Respublikos ir Demokratų partijos senatoriai neoficiškai pranešė Baltųjame namely, kad neleis patvirtinti Donaldo Trumpo kandidatų, kol bus atkurta ukrainiečių karinių pajėgų prieiga prie „Starlink“. Žydynieji, susivieniję su kongresmenais, 23 spalio kvietė Pentagoną atkurti neribotą „Starlink“ ir „Starshield“ paslaugų veikimą bei apsvarstyti nacionalinio saugumo produkcijos įstatymo panaudojimą. They asked the Pentagon to restore unrestricted Starlink and Starshield service, expand the existing Starshield contract and ensure sufficient coverage for lawful Ukrainian military operations on Russian territory. The letter also proposed considering the Defense Production Act, which allows the US government to require companies to prioritize government orders.
Separately, senators told the White House through unofficial channels that they would withhold votes on Trump’s nominees until Ukrainian military access to Starlink was restored. This warning had not been formally announced. Tom Tillis was also reported to have initiated an inquiry into the Pentagon’s role in the communications problems, while Senate staff considered investigating SpaceX.
On October 24, Ukrainian military units and the Defense Ministry reported that Starlink was once again operating above 161 km/h. The ministry nevertheless continued checking the upper limits and whether connectivity had been restored in full.
