Захист also cited the July decision canceling procedural obligations imposed on Tymoshynko as grounds for reducing the bail.
Kas nutiko
Oct 26, the High Anti-Corruption Court, chaired by Judge Oleh Tkachenko, reduced Tymoshynko’s bail from 33,280,000 hryvnias to 266,240 hryvnias. Tymoshynko had personally asked the court to revise the January decision after more than eight months of criminal proceedings and after the court canceled her procedural obligations in July. Her lawyers requested bail equal to 80 subsistence minima, the amount approved by the court. The prosecutor opposed the reduction, citing Tymoshynko’s financial capacity. Most of the previously posted bail is to be returned to its contributors. Two contributors declined repayment, and their money will be credited toward the new bail.
Kaip apie tai rašo Ukrainos šaltiniai
Ukrainian reporting focused on the dramatic reduction in bail, the prospective return of nearly 33 million hryvnias and the opposing positions of Tymoshynko’s defense and the prosecutor. Reports also highlighted the procedural context: the original bail imposed on January 16, the January 21 asset seizure, the partial cancellation of that measure on February 16, the cancellation of procedural obligations on July 7, completion of the pre-trial investigation on April 8 and the indictment filed on May 26.
Kontekstas
Tymoshynko is a Ukrainian member of parliament and leader of the Batkivshchyna party. The bail was imposed on January 16, 2026, in a case concerning allegations that she offered improper benefits to members of parliament in exchange for votes. Nine people posted the full bail on January 23. The case concerns allegations of proposing improper benefits to members of parliament under part 4 of Article 369 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Tymoshynko denies the allegations and says the audio recordings published by the National Agency on Corruption Prevention are fabricated.
